Kunimare was born in Mashige, a prosperous place for herring fishing since the end of the Edo period (1603-1868). The company was founded when it began brewing sake for the yanshu, the people who worked in the fishing grounds. Blessed with good quality water since olden times, Zumo is known as the place where Kitamae ships used to supply drinking water. Kuniumare" is a sake produced in a region blessed with abundant nature and products from the mountains and the sea. The Meiji and Taisho era stone warehouses and stores that blend in with the historic townscape have a nostalgic and peaceful appearance. We will continue to brew sake with all our hearts so that many people will patronize it as the local sake of Mashike. Please stop by.
