- Founded in 1868. Iekyucho," the company name and representative brand name, is derived from the trade name of the company's predecessor, a lumber merchant. In 1982, the toji system was abolished and only employees are engaged in sake brewing. The brewery uses the famous water from the Yamizo mountain range, and the rice is polished to a high ratio to give the sake a light, refreshing taste that is easy to drink.
