It is brewed with 6 tons of natural spring water per hour in the brewery. The brewery was founded in 1875. The brewery was founded in 1875, when Iiyoshi Hikozaemon I, the founder, brewed sake from a high-quality spring water that never ran dry. The sake was named "Ayumi-Masamune" by His Imperial Highness Prince Hiroyoshi Wakamiya of Fushimi, Kyoto, who stayed at Akakura in Myoko-Kogen, a famous recreational area near our brewery in the early Showa period (1926-1989), when he fished for sweetfish in this area.
