Surrounded by the three mountains of Yamato, it is the only existing sake brewery in Imai-cho, where the Edo period townscape still remains. 　The brewery's trade name is "Joubonjiya," and documents show that it was already engaged in the sake brewing business in 1772. Even today, the brewery continues to maintain the old traditions and to brew sake with great care and diligence, and to make "Umashi-shu" (excellent sake).
