酒蔵について
Oki Shuzo was established in 1972 through the merger of five Oki breweries (all breweries of the Nishigo Sake Brewers Association): Kikusui, Takamasamune, Okitsuru, and Gosho. Oki is described in the Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters) and Nihonshoki (Chronicles of Japan) as "Amano no Oshikurobetsu" or "Oki no Sankojima" and consists of four inhabited islands and over 180 islets in the Sea of Japan, about 40 to 60 km from the Shimane Peninsula. In the Middle Ages, the island is known as an island of history, where the emperors Go-Toba and Go-Daigo were exiled, and as a tourist island blessed with scenic beauty such as strange rocks and sea reefs. The island is also blessed with abundant forests, which are fed by rain and fog brought by the Tsushima Warm Current, and high-quality water gushes out all over the island. There are two famous water sources selected by the Environment Agency as one of the "100 best water sources," and the island is blessed with limpid brewing water. We brew sake, shochu, and liqueur in this rich natural environment. (Shimane Prefecture Sake Brewers Association)
