- 酒蔵について
- During the Meiji Era, many Japanese went to the U.S. in search of their dreams, some succeeded, others returned to their home countries, and many people from Tetsunishi also went to the U.S. Shigegoro Miyata, the founder of our brewery, was one of them. In 1902, Shigoro made up his mind to emigrate to the U.S. by himself, leaving behind his wife and eldest daughter, who was born after their first year of marriage. After immigrating to Japan, Shigegoro ran a strawberry farm (known as "Holland Strawberry") with his friends and overcame many hardships to make a large fortune. With his fortune, he decided to start a sake brewing business, and on February 28, 1913, he received a license to produce sake, shochu, and ajirin in this area. This brewery was born out of the "American dream," which is rare for a sake brewery to be founded.
