- Mihotsuru" was founded in 1897 by the first generation, Ohmihoichi, as a sake brewery. The brewery has been operating for more than 110 years in Hiruzen, an area of severe cold that is ideal for brewing sake. We are a small brewery with a small number of elite brewers, sticking to the old-fashioned way of brewing. We brew our sake slowly and carefully, using pure subsoil water from Shiogama in the Hiruzen Plateau in the northernmost part of Okayama Prefecture.
