- 酒蔵について
- Founded in 1910, this sake brewery has a history of over 110 years. The first brewer, Toraji Utsunomiya, was a resident of the former Uwa-machi, and founded the brewery in Unomachi, Uwa-machi, because of the abundance of rice used to make sake and the soft water that is soft to the palate. Its representative brand is Chidori. The name "Chidori" comes from the fact that the land in Onikubo, where the brewery is located, was a marshy area where, since ancient times, beautiful scenery could be seen of plovers flying back to their nests in flocks in the red sky at dusk. The title of the sake's label, "Chidori", was written by Mr. Shinmin Sakamura, famous for his poem "Nenzureba Hana Hiraku" ("If you think, flowers will bloom"). Next, we have a brand called Hanakami. This pink sake was created in 1989 by Shigeaki Utsunomiya, the fourth president, who was the managing director at the time. In 1990, the fourth president wanted to give this beautiful peach-colored sake a great name, so he wrote his thoughts on a letterhead and asked Mr. Ryotaro Shiba to name it after the novel "Hanagami" (flower god). Thank you. Thank you very much for your kind offer to name my novel "Hanakami. I hope there will be many people who will love to drink it. He gave us his permission in a handwritten postcard, and we have continued to have a relationship with him since then. Utsunomiya Brewery, which is associated with famous figures in Japanese literature, brews its sake using rice grown in Uwa and "Kannon-mizu," one of the 100 best waters in Japan, as the brewing water for the sake mother.
