味わいの特徴
Kame-no-o brewing. Before the war, this rice was grown as edible rice in a wide area from Hokuriku to Tohoku, but it was discontinued as it was unsuitable for modern farming methods using chemical fertilizers introduced from the U.S. after the war. It was brought back into the limelight by "Natsuko no sake" (those who saw the movie in real time must be in their 40s or older), but it is not sake rice, so great care must be taken in its cultivation. It is the most difficult rice to grow in Japan because it is the tallest rice in Japan at 150 cm tall.
