Tanaka Sake Brewery was established in 1899 in the town where the Otaru Canal is located. The company has been in business for more than 100 years and continues to brew and preserve Otaru's local sake, "Takaragawa". We are proud that the rice used is "100% grown in Hokkaido. The Kameko-gura, our production facility, takes advantage of Hokkaido's cool climate to brew sake all year round. Anyone is welcome to visit the brewery at any time and sample the sake produced. The main store is a wooden building built in 1927. The store, which has been restored to its early Showa period appearance, displays valuable wooden signboards and other items from the past, allowing visitors to enjoy the atmosphere of a good old-fashioned sake brewery.
