- Our brewery is located in Osaki City, the birthplace of Sasanishiki and Hitomebore in Miyagi Prefecture, a major rice-producing region. While brewing traditional sake using local rice and groundwater from the brewery's own grounds, we are also actively engaged in developing new products using brewing and fermentation technology to offer our customers a more affluent lifestyle. Ichinokura was established in 1973 through a corporate merger of four historical breweries in Miyagi Prefecture. The name "Ichinokura" has two meanings: the four companies became one brewery, and the brewery aims to be the best (Only One) brewery in Japan. The brewery is located in Matsuyama, Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, which is blessed with an abundance of underground spring water, and in 1977 launched the "Mukanzan" series, which raised issues with the liquor tax system of the time. Today, the company remains faithful to its founding philosophy of "brewing high-quality sake by "handmade" brewing. In addition to sake brewing, the Ichinokura Farming Company was established to revitalize local agriculture, and the company actively participates in environmental issues, aiming to realize a "Ichinokura-style sixth industry".
