- Founded in 1896, the brewery is located in the northwestern part of the prefecture, in a rural area blessed with subsoil water from the Funagata mountain range, which contains beech forests, and is designated as a heavy snowfall area during the brewing season. Today, the brewery is led by a seventh-generation master brewer who has inherited the traditional skills of the Nanbu Touji. The concept of sake brewing is "Simple is best. We believe that simple things are difficult to convey immediately, but they are truly good things that will be loved for a long time, and we strive to brew sake with care and respect for the basics without being influenced by fads.
