Chokai, a beautiful mountain in the Tohoku region, was founded in 1830 in Yajima-cho, Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture, and is now in its 191st year. The company's goal is "the best sake that can be made locally. The Tenju Sake Rice Research Association was established in the Koyoshigawa River basin, one of the best rice-producing areas in Akita, with the aim of ensuring the best sake rice, based on the idea that "sake brewing starts with rice production. The brewing water used is the soft subterranean water of Chokai-san, which oozes out over time. The brewery and its history of excellent sake are still protected today by a relentless passion for improvement, rice cultivated to the point of perfection, blessed water, and traditional craftsmanship.
