- Founded in the Tempo era of the Edo period (1603-1868), the company has been brewing sake for more than 200 years in Furudono-machi, Fukushima Prefecture, a small town rich in nature located in the Abukuma mountain range. Toyokuni" emphasizes the tradition and prestige that have been handed down since its establishment. In 2011, the ninth generation brewer, Kensei Yanai, created a new brand, "Ippoki," based on the concept of "tradition and prestige plus modernity," and has been brewing sake under the banner of "inheriting tradition and prestige and fusing them with modern tastes.
