Founded in 1872 (Meiji 5), this sake brewery is a nationally registered tangible cultural property in Oyama City, Tochigi Prefecture. The brewery brews sake using natural subterranean water from the Nikko Mountain Range as its brewing water. The brewery's flagship brand, "Monkai Fude" was created with the idea of "producing a small amount of high quality sake for local consumption. Even today, more than 90% of the sake is consumed in Tochigi Prefecture. In addition to "Wakazakari," the brewery's oldest brand, we are actively taking on new challenges that defy conventional thinking, such as "Aimaimaimi," a pure sake made from 100% ancient rice without using sake rice, "Clear Brew," the first clear tank brew in Japan (*patented), and "ILLUMINA," a fermented sake with LED color light illumination. We are proactively taking on new challenges. Based on the solid technology that our award-winning history shows, we aim to be a sake brewery with the motto of "free and open-minded sake brewing" that continues to take on new challenges in response to the times, in order to embody both the inheritance of tradition and innovation.
