Oyama City, which is blessed with a clear stream, the Omoigawa River, flowing through its center and subsoil water from the Nikko Mountain Range, is a source of delicious rice and has been home to many sake breweries since ancient times. Even today, there are five sake breweries in the city that offer high quality local sake. Wakakoma Sake Brewery is one of them, founded in 1860. It is the oldest sake brewery in Oyama City and is a national tangible cultural property.
