- 酒蔵について
- Founded in 1872. Asama Shuzo is located in the lush green town of Naganohara, where mountains surround 80% of the area. At an elevation of approximately 600 meters, we harness the soft water flowing from the mountain ranges and the dry environment that draws out the umami of koji. We pursue a truly unique sake that can only be brewed at the foot of Mount Asama. Furthermore, Gunma Prefecture is one of the few inland prefectures in the island nation of Japan. We aspire for the sake we brew to be "the best sake in Japan to pair with vegetables." Boiled, grilled, steamed, pickled... Vegetables, adaptable to any cooking method and seasoning, are now our staple food. Our sake aims to enhance the umami of everyday vegetable dishes while mellowing the bitterness of strong-flavored ingredients. That is the sake Asama Shuzo strives to create.
