- Founded in 1830 (Bunsei 13). Incorporated in 1906 (Meiji 39). Located in the Tonami Plain in western Toyama Prefecture, it is the largest sake brewery in the prefecture. Named after the Tateyama mountain range, counted among Japan's three most famous mountains, the sake brand embodies a commitment to quality. It uses underground water from the Shō River system as brewing water and exclusively employs sake-brewing rice, all independently sorted by color-sorting machines. The resulting sake is highly regarded and supported by residents of Ishikawa and Toyama Prefectures. In recent years, its expansion has focused on the Tokyo metropolitan area. It has received multiple accolades: 10 Gold Awards in the last 10 years at the National Tax Agency's Sake Appraisal, 10 Gold Awards in the last 20 years at the National Sake Appraisal (with no entries from 2008 to 2016), and 5 GOLD awards in the last 10 years in the "Sake Category" at the International Wine Challenge (IWC).
