- 酒蔵について
- In 1733, Shichiemon I founded the brewery under the name "Chanokiya," and it was a hardware store that served the Ono Domain. 1901, the sixth generation, Teizo, started brewing sake, and the brand name "Hanagaki" was born. In 1933, Hanagaki was selected as the top sake brewer in Japan. The 8th generation, Tadao, overcame wartime hardships to continue brewing sake and further develop the business. The current owner, Takayasu, the ninth generation, continues to pursue the possibilities of sake brewing, with an emphasis on tradition and handmade sake. Located in the eastern part of Fukui Prefecture, Ono City is one of the heaviest snowfall areas in the Hokuriku region, with the Hakusan Mountains in the background. It is a basin surrounded on all sides by 1,000-meter mountains, and is blessed with abundant spring water from the Kuzuryu River, which flows through the center of the basin. Oshozu, a representative spring pond, has been selected as one of the 100 best waters by the Environment Agency. Nanbu Sake Brewery uses "Nanama Shimizu" spring water from the street facing the brewery for brewing, and in 2006 it was certified as "FUKUI NO OISHIMIZU" (delicious water of FUKUI). We also produce and sell this water as mineral water. Ono City, blessed with water and fertile land, produces a variety of agricultural products, especially rice. The city is also famous for its representative sake rice, "Gohyakumangoku," and the Nanbu Sake Brewery brews sake using Gohyakumangoku, Sakahomare, Kuzuryu, Koshinozuku, and other high-quality local rice as raw materials. We have been brewing sake for about 120 years. With the philosophy of "Careful attention to detail," the brewery has been brewing traditional yet challenging sake in a blessed environment.
