酒蔵について
Founded in Meiji 33 (1900) in the picturesque land of Saku, Nagano Prefecture, this fine sake is brewed using underground water from the Chikuma River and premium sake rice primarily harvested within Nagano Prefecture and Saku City. Named "Kame no Umi" (Turtle Sea) from the auspicious phrase "Kameju Fukukai" (Turtle Longevity, Sea of Happiness). In the early Taisho era, the brewery pioneered the introduction of the newly developed rapid fermentation method. In the 1960s, it became a trailblazer in Nagano Prefecture by launching commercially available ginjo sake. This spirit of pursuing high-quality production, delivering fine sake contrary to mass production, continues to this day. Since 2000, the brewery has focused on brewing junmai sake primarily from locally grown rice. This rice is cultivated through reduced-pesticide farming methods, a collaborative effort involving local farmers, the brewery, and consumers, and is certified organic under the JAS standards. The brewery's slogan is "A Brewery That Brews People's Aspirations." It embodies the commitment to: Brewing with people's aspirations. Living in harmony with nature. Pursuing the essence of local sake. Shaping a sustainable future for the region.

Takizawa, Zenkōji Omotè Sandō

A selection of Shinshu's prized local sake awaits, paired with delicious snacks made from Shinshu ingredients. Soba noodles are also available in set menus for great value. We recommend sipping slowly before enjoying your soba. The manager is knowledgeable about local sake, offering a curated lineup including limited editions. The renovated interior boasts a stylish, modern Japanese aesthetic.

Mikawaya Shokudo Nakagomi Station

A local diner just a 7-minute walk from Tsuchiya Sake Brewery. This cherished, long-established eatery offers a rare chance to casually savor Saku carp, a specialty of Shinshu Saku. The carp sashimi here has absolutely no fishy odor; the local way is to eat it with wasabi soy sauce. Pairing its firm, crisp flesh with unpasteurized sake is delicious. Their fried river fish (hayakawa, or sweetfish) also pairs perfectly with local sake. Classic koi koku soup and sweet braised koi are also available.

Ikeda

This is a full-fledged kaiseki restaurant, yet its incredibly affordable lunch menu is also hugely popular. They offer several types of fish set meals featuring fresh fish, expertly selected by the owner, generously sliced thick and carefully grilled. Since you can enjoy the skill of high-end Japanese cuisine at an affordable lunch price, it gets crowded on weekends. In the evening, you can savor a full-course meal paired with Shinshu local sake.

地元おすすめの宿

AQA Hotel Premium

This business hotel offers Shinshu sake and Shinshu wine at its first-floor restaurant. But above all, the panoramic views from the observation room on the large bath floor—accessible only to guests—are breathtaking. Though primarily a rest area, it also features a terrace where you can enjoy the perfect atmosphere during pleasant seasons. This is a privilege reserved exclusively for guests.
