- Masumi was founded in 1662. Blessed with limpid water and a cool climate, the company has been brewing sake named after "Masumi's mirror," a treasure of the Suwa-taisha Shrine, in Suwa, Shinshu, at the foot of the Kirigamine Mountains. We are proud to be the originator of "Shichi-go Yeast," which is still used as an excellent sake yeast in sake breweries throughout Japan. In recent years, under the theme of "going back to the basics," we have been creating a new Masumi through a hybrid of tradition and innovation while using our own strain of "Shichi-go" yeast, which has its roots in the excellent sake yeast "Association No. 7" discovered in 1946.

We love this restaurant, which has connections with producers of quality ingredients not only in Nagano Prefecture, but also throughout Japan, and offers a seasonal dining experience. The owner, Mr. Karaki, and I are planning to enliven the local Suwa area with food.
You can enjoy legitimate Italian food using local ingredients from Shinshu. Located at the foot of Mt. Yatsugatake, the scenery, which changes with the seasons, is spectacular.
The restaurant is famous for its delicious roasted meats, including gibier, which the owner himself shot into the mountains with a gun.

You can enjoy the crystal clear air and hot springs of Tateshina at this inn.
Located right in front of Hakuba Happo One ski resort, you can enjoy the silvery white world in winter.
The owner's sensibility to make use of old things and his aesthetic sense that goes into every detail are wonderful, and the cuisine that takes advantage of the natural climate of Shinshu is also recommended.
