- 酒蔵について
- The ancestors of the founding family moved from Tsushima City in present-day Aichi Prefecture to Gifu Prefecture and ran a dumpling tea shop called "Tsushimaya" in Ota-juku, the 51st post town on the old Nakasendo route. The brewery is located in a corner of Ota-juku, which still retains a strong trace of its Edo Period days. The city of Minokamo in Gifu Prefecture, with its limpid water, can be said to be an ideal location for sake brewing, as evidenced by the historical legends that "limpid fresh water gushed out in Izumida, southeast of Kamo Shrine," and that "before the Taika Reformation, the family of the prefect of Kamo no Sato was chosen to accompany the water-drawers and offer the water to the Yamato Imperial Court. Since its establishment over 130 years ago, the company has continued to brew sake through tradition and innovation.
