- 酒蔵について
- Founded in 1660 in Miwa, Nara—the land where the god of sake resides. We are dedicated to sake brewing in the shadow of Omiwa Shrine, Japan’s oldest shrine, which has been revered since ancient times as the “God of Sake” and the “Ancestral God of Brewing.” Our brewing philosophy is “Pure, Righteous Sake Brewing.” “Pure” expresses the unblemished purity of Miwa. “Righteous” means doing only what is right in the sake-making process. As brewers, we base all our decisions on the question: “Are we doing what is right throughout the entire brewing process?” Our sake concept is “Drink Miwa.” Our brewing water comes from the underground spring water of Mount Miwa—the sacred object of worship—which flows from a well within our brewery grounds. The rice is grown in partnership with contracted farmers along the same watercourse as our brewing water. Additionally, our brewery staff personally cultivate rice in our own fields. We take pride and joy in being able to brew sake in this sacred place, rare even on a global scale, and we will continue to brew sake that embodies the essence of Miwa.
