Kumayashuzou Yuugengaisha
Okayama- 代表銘柄
- Ishichi
- 酒蔵について
- It was founded around 1716 in the middle of the Edo period by Ishichi Ihoriya, the third generation of the Ihoriya family. We have been producing and selling only sake for about 300 years. The brewery is surrounded by a sacred temple with a history of over 1,300 years. To the north of the brewery is Japan's First Kumano Shrine, a historical site designated by Okayama Prefecture, with six Shinto shrines and other buildings set against a forested background. There is also a three-story pagoda designated by the prefecture as a cultural asset. On the south side is Goryu Sonryu-in, the head temple of Shugendo (mountain asceticism), where mountain asceticism was practiced. Goryu Sonryuin is also the birthplace of Kojima Takanori. Kumaya Sake Brewery, under the watchful eye of this sacred temple, uses 100% sacred water from the mountain behind the brewery and faithfully follows the traditional brewing process, striving to make delicious sake that everyone can enjoy every day. The brewer's excellent brewing techniques have allowed us to win the Hiroshima Regional Taxation Bureau's Excellence Award for four consecutive years. We are a small, hidden brewery with only the brewer and his family, but we are doing our best.
