- Le Saké du Terroir - depuis 1877 For 147 years since its establishment in 1877 (Meiji 10) in the Tosa-Minehoku region, a mountainous area in the northern part of Kochi Prefecture, we have been striving to produce high quality sake in the midst of abundant water and clean air. Tosa-cho, Tosa-gun, Kochi Prefecture, where the brewery is located, is surrounded by the source of the Yoshino River, which flows through the center of Shikoku, and by the serene natural environment of Lake Hayamiura, known as Shikoku's water bottle. We are committed to brewing sake with rice grown in the local terraced rice paddies, and to using traditional techniques such as the "Namo Hashi" and "Yamahai" methods to create Kaygetsu as a "Sake of the Land".
