- suginomori brewery is the highest brewery in Japan, located at an altitude of approximately 940 meters above sea level. Surrounded by cedar forests and the mountains of Kiso, Naraijuku brews sake from mountain water and locally grown rice. Naraijuku has developed as the longest inn town in Japan since the Edo period. Today, its streets are still registered as a cultural asset of Japan and attract many visitors. The Suginomori Sake Brewery, founded in 1793, was the symbol of Naraijuku, but in 2012, the brewery closed the curtain on its 200-year history and went dormant. In 2021, the historic brewery will be revitalized as "suginomori brewery" and a new sake brand "narai" will be developed. We will challenge a new sake brewery style that combines "tradition" and "creativity" through careful brewing in a microbrewery using the four seasons brewing method. Please enjoy "narai" brewed with the best water and the finest rice.
